Bob Wills

Fiddle Player, Mandolin Player, Vocalist

Born March 6, 1905, Kosse, TX
Died May 13, 1975, Fort Worth, TX

Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999 as a member of Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys

Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys from the 1944 short, "Bob Will and His Texas Playboys," playing "New San Antonio Rose." The song features Tommy Duncan on vocals.

Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys play "Stay All Night, Stay a Little Longer" from the 1945 movie, "Lawless Empire."

This 1951 Snader Telescription shows a nervous looking Bob Wills singing "Sittin' On Top of the World," which he had performed since the 1930s. Joe "Jody" Holley is the second fiddle player and Bobby Koefer is on steel guitar (very nice "harmonic" lick at the end of his solo). Please note guitarist Cotton Whittington, a lefty who played a guitar strung for a right hand player.
